SIRSA has succeeded in reducing the generation of plastic container waste by 77 % in just one year by replacing the products that it regularly uses.
The company has implemented an action plan at the multinational, Ficosa, a global automotive supplier, for which SIRSA provides cleaning and maintenance services. The analysis of the project, implemented at the facilities in Viladecavalls (Barcelona), where 2,000 employees work, concludes with notable results for reducing the generation of waste by including an ecological, controlled dosing system and the efficient dilution of concentrated products.
According to the project report, the system has allowed going from 1,466 containers in 2018 to just 325 by the end of 2019. The installation consists of cleaning products dispensers with which workers refill reusable containers. These dosers also eliminate the use of chlorinated products and control the ideal quantities for each type of service.
Cleaning is done using highly-efficient, super-concentrated products. With one 2.5-litre container of concentrated ecological product, it is possible to obtain 1,250 litres of product for cleaning. The dosers use ecological products that are mixed with water coming from the circuit of the companies where they are installed. This system also reduces transport by 20 percent and over-dosing by 40 percent.
SIRSA thereby enhances more efficient procedures in its commitment to an ever-more sustainable service that contributes to fighting against the climate emergency.
