The importance of training

08.06.2020

Reinforcing training and adapting it to prevent infection by COVID-19.

The de-escalation of restrictions is reaching its end, and most establishments that are open to the public are returning to activity.

As from today, restaurants, shops and large malls will open everywhere in Spain, with strict safety measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. And the cleaning and disinfection of facilities is one of the indispensable measures.

During this time, SIRSA has increased its training courses for personnel on sanitisation procedures and safety protocols.

For more than an hour, all company employees who resume providing service at malls are informed about the Action Plan to guarantee their protection against exposure to the coronavirus. Moreover, they are instructed on how to correctly disinfect premises to prevent infection: personal measures (correct use of an FFP2 mask, gloves, hand washing, access to the work centre, physical contact, etc.) and organisational measures (staggered entry times in common areas, schedule and shift flexibility, safety distance, etc.).

In these courses, which are given at the work centre itself, cleaners receive a comprehensive review of sanitisation and disinfection procedures and methods according to the zones to be cleaned: frequency, necessary tools, the right products and doses, surfaces (emphasising contact zones such as lift buttons, railings, door knobs, handrails of hallways and escalators, etc.), cleaning of materials and waste processing.

Training is completed by handing out protective equipment and documents on the action plan and protocols drafted by SIRSA according to instructions from the Ministry of Health and health authorities.
